Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in Guatemala Q4 2023

The fourth quarter of 2023 saw notable activity in the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Guatemala. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps on a unified platform, encompassing both iOS and Android data.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced fluctuating download numbers throughout Q4. Starting strong with around 13K downloads in late September, the app saw a dip to approximately 10.7K by mid-October. However, it rebounded to nearly 17.9K in mid-November before settling at around 11.2K by the end of December. Weekly active users (WAUs) started at 179K and showed minor fluctuations, peaking at 194K in mid-November and ending the quarter at approximately 162K.

Uber - Request a ride also demonstrated a diverse trend in downloads. Starting at about 8.2K in late September, it dipped to around 4.3K in early October before recovering to 10.1K by early December. WAUs for the app were around 1M initially, climbing steadily to a peak of 1.14M in mid-December, before a slight drop to 952K at the end of the quarter.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery saw significant variation in download numbers, starting with 8.1K in late September, spiking to 13.7K in early October, and then stabilizing around 7.6K by the end of December. WAUs showed a steady increase from 26.6K in late September, peaking at 38K in late October, and ending the quarter at approximately 30.1K.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a notable rise in downloads, beginning with 3.2K in late September and peaking at 6.3K in mid-November. By the end of December, downloads were around 4.7K. WAUs started at 37.9K, reaching a peak of 46.5K in mid-November, and ending the quarter at about 42.8K.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides maintained relatively stable download numbers, starting at 576 in late September and slightly decreasing to 452 by the end of December. WAUs remained consistent, starting at 9.2K and ending the quarter at approximately 8.8K.
